- An idler arm has either a tapered hole or a ball joint on the end connecting to the center link, and a mounting portion that is bolted to the frame or sub-frame.

- Rough road conditions
- Driving wear.
What are Symptoms of Failure?
- Under car noise.
- Erratic steering.
- Drifting.
- Front-end shimmy.
What Are the Consequences of Failure?
- Arm becomes loose.
- Damaged.
- Sometimes only one idler arm may be failing, but it’s good practice and insurance to replace both
