Leaking transmission fluid is one of the easiest ways to determine your car needs attention. If the transmission filter is not fitted properly, it could result in leakage. In addition, leaks can come from a defect to the transmission itself; generally, from a cracked, dislodged, or misaligned seal or gasket. These leaks are most noticeable when your car is moved from a parked position—that's why it's important to take notice of leakage on the ground from your parked car. Check the transmission fluid regularly, not just for its level, but to see if it is clean.
