Rated 1 out of 5 by Ron Less than 40K miles, and their ready to be replaced.
I bought these because of the 90,000 mile rating. I previously had Michelin tires rated at 80,000 miles and got over 70,000, so I wanted to buy them again, but they were discontinued. So I bought these Defender tires. I took them to my dealer for rotation every 5,000 miles faithfully. But this time the dealer told me that they're close to worn out and I should replace them in 3,000 to 5,000 miles. I only have about 36,000 miles on the tires, so I'm VERY unhappy. These are expensive tires, and even though Michelin will pro-rate my next tires, I have to pay again for road hazard, etc.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Speedy1965 Noisy
This tire corners well and delivered 4 additional mpg all around for my 2010 Chevy Impala. However, they had to be replaced after a week with a different brand because they had a loud roar as if I had knobby mud tires on a 4x4. I am very disappointed more testing wasn't done during development. Impala owners beware!

I've used Michelin for years and I will continue to buy them but not the Defender. The tires are noisy and ride extremely rough. I haven't decided if I going back to the dealer to see if they will replace them. They are really good people so I may get lucky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike G.. Works good on Prius
Michelin honors its warranty. I had some other Michelins on the Prius that caused vibrations despite being balanced 3 times. They replaced those tires with the Defender, which were cheaper, but perform very well. The ride is smooth and quiet. I have driven through rain at high speeds, and they feel like dry pavement. These tires are a major upgrade over the OEM tires and I recommend the Defender for the Prius.

The 4 Defender tires that I purchased before are excellent, even when the tread was worn to be able to see Lincoln's head on a penny when placed in the tread. I drove through some pretty heavy rain on the interstate and all day rain as well. The Defender tires handled very well and still gave me a safe and comfortable ride at interstate speeds. That is the main reason I am buying my second set for my Prius and probably will purchase a set for my wife's Town and Country too.

I have about 45000 miles on the tire. They wear OK. About 40% tread left. These tires however do not perform well at all in the rain and suck extremely in the snow. They ride really stiff and make a decent amount of road noise. I'm not wasting my money again on michelins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sam very good so far.
Purchased these tire on 09/18/2013. Now have 71,545 miles on them. All is good untill now. I'm getting a lot of road noise but not sure its the tires. I was told when I got these that they would not last the whole 90,000 miles because of the roads here. Lots of hills and sharp turns. There is still about 10 to 20 thousend miles left on them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TN_Driver Tires wore out by 55,000 miles
I had a set of these tires installed on my 2007 Honda Odyssey EX minivan. The tire's treadwear warranty is 90,000 miles, but the tread was down to less than 3/32" by 55,000 miles. The tires drive well, but I'm very disappointed with the treadwear. I expected better from Michelin especially after paying a premium price for them. I've purchased numerous sets of Michelin LTX M/S tires for a Ford E350 van and always get at least the 70,000 mile mileage rating stated for them. I bought these tires hoping for similar results, but didn't get it.
