I have 115.000 miles on my Long Trail T/A tires and the wear bars are beginning to show. I keep tires rotated and inflated, make sure my alignment is correct. This is on a 2000 ford Ranger, i got 105.000 out of my first set of tires on this truck! Great tires!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Chaz not that happy for the the price
I've had these tires now for 20,000 miles and noticed considerable wear. i have done tremendous research prior to purchasing and thought it was a win-win purchase. I do not believe these will last to the 60,000 mile warranty. I live in Florida and perhaps the heat plays into effect of the poor tread life. I have also maintained the tires with realignments and rotations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Venu Excellent rubber for the road
My 2000 Nissan Xterra SE 4X4 came installed (new) with these BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A Tour tires. The first set ran for 72K miles and I was so happy with the performance. So I got my second 4 tires. Today my Nissan has 145K miles (that is 73K miles on the 2nd set of tires) and I am ready for a change. Definitely want to get the exact same tires and currently shopping for the best deal I can get.

Best tire I have ever owned--I am 67 years old and have bought a few tires in my life I have a 2006 ford escape. I replaced the original tires at 56000 miles. They were worn out. I now have 157000 miles on the escape. I am about ready for new tires with over 101000 miles on the long trail tires. Never had the front aligned--Never had a flat--Just rotated the tires around 7000 miles

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wheels Excellent Tire on my Silverado
I now have over 62,000 miles on these tires and haven't quite reached the indicators. They have handled 110 degree heat and 2 feet of snow over the past 2 1/2 years. They're on an '03 Silverado extended cab with the Z71 off road package. I don't understand the bad reviews at all, I have no cracks and no problems at all, just normal wear. I would buy again, in fact I'm going to soon.

These tires had their pressure checked weekly and were always rotated on schedule but did not last 35,000 miles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Elliot Look great but...
The smooth sidewall looks great and is easy to clean. Ride is a tad on the firm side but comfortable. Handling, rain, light snow performance all fine. Unfortunately mine have developed cracks where the sidewall meets the edge of the tread and must be replaced. More than half the tread remains. I wash my car with regular car soap and use no dressing.

Previous owner of my 2007 Mercury Mountineer replaced OEM tires with BFG's at 33,000 + miles in November 2009. I bought from Ford dealer, who had sold/mounted the tires, in March 2010. Vehicle now has 43,000 miles and tires cannot be balanced. All have a radial sidewall crack just below the tread. Cannot get anyone to accept responsibility for the faulty tires. Hope to find something on this site, but cannot find anything other than this rating site. Ford dealer says that I must take them to a BFG tire dealer. Tire dealers say that Ford dealer is responsible. What to do??? Buy some other brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gduke Why are My tires Turning Brown?
I have about 500 miles on a set of Long Trail T/A and they keep turning brown. I have bought many tires before, but this is the first set that turn brown and it is an unwelcome task having to scrub the tires so frequently and re-dress them with tire dressings to turn them black again. I have learned that a term called blooming where antioxidant (or something similar to that) works it way to the outside of the tire to keep them from checking and cracking. Why is this necessary when I never had to deal with this until I bought this set? Should I be concerned about my safety driving with these tires?

I just purchased ( last night ) a set of 4Rugged Terrain T/A 235/70R16.OMG the noise level is deafening,I replaced my Continental for this reason. Purchased them based on thier advertised as a quiet ride tires. What am I missing? Don't know if they will get quieter in time or if I should just take them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GCClarke 60,000 miles was just the warm-up!
Recently put my second set of Long Trail T/A Tour tires on my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LS. Talk about under-promising and over-delivering; I got 146,863 miles on that last set that was rated for "only" 60,000. These tires chew up and spit out SoCal's Cajon Pass 2X a day. BF Goodrich, I'm either one of your best customers or your worst! Don't worry....I'll be back. You've got me for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crandall GREAT TIRES!
I have a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado with 143,000 miles. Over 4 years ago I installed a set of Long Trail 225/75R15 tires and have been extremely pleased with them ever since. The tires have around 84,300 miles on them now and are still not down to the tread wear indicators. At this rate, I think I should be able to get over 100K easily. Even now with less tread the tires are quiet. Since I live in TN, the tires rarely see snow so I can't say how they perform in the winter. Of note, I regularly rotate the tires, make sure the tire pressures are good and my truck is in good alignment - all things necessary to extend the life of a tire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DONOTTOW a huge letdown
ive had these tires for about 3 years and only put 15,000 miles on them. However if you're towing boats like myself these things will not hold up the rear tires warp forcing you to move them to the front and then anytime you get above 40 mph your whole truck shakes DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES!

I'm on my second set. Put 104,000+ miles on the first set, was so happy with them I bought them again. I have north of 75,000 on this set. They have plenty of tread left so I'm expecting to hit the 100k mark again. I've had good traction in all conditions. So, BF Goodrich, I'm gonna buy them again. Matter of fact, you might just become my only tire manufacturer.

This is my second set on a 00 Navigator used as my wife's daily driver and for local and long distance towing of a 6,500# enclosed trailer. Wear is very good and always even, they are quiet, never lose balance and have good grip in most conditions. Would highly recommend, no complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bk2 Honda Pilot review
These tires started off great on my 2006 Honda Pilot, but after nearly 30K miles, it sounds like I am driving on Off Road tires. The noise these tires generate is so loud a friend who also has a Pilot asked us what is wrong with our car. I have these same tires on my Montero Sport with no issues or noise. Balancing, alignment, rotation are and have been done regularly. For Honda Pilot owners you may want stay away unless you like very very loud tires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CustomCab Very happy so far
Put a set of these (275/60-17's) on my 2001 Grand Cherokee LTD in Sept 2010. They replaced a set of Michelin Cross-Terrains that had over 120k miles on them and cost nearly TWICE as much. I've put about 8K miles on them so far and I'm really pleased with them. They are smooth as silk all day long on the Interstate at 70+mph, and they do well in the snow here in Indiana. I'm going to put the same thing on my other Jeep when the time comes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ranger762 Incredible value
Bought these tires in 2007 to replace OEM tires on my '04 Saturn Vue. They've held up incredibly, including a full year when my work commute was 2 hours each way, and a subsequent 800-mile move that required three trips. It's now 4 years later, and I'm preparing to replace them after nearly 90,000 MILES. Could probably get another 5- to 7,000 miles out of them, but want to take advantage of a local sale. Excellent tires!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Third Set On Tahoe But........
This is my 3rd set of 4 Long Trail TA tires & you would think I should have learned that this is a 30K mile tire not a 60K mile tire. The tire works well for about 25K miles then balds out in middle & pushes in turns in snow & done in about 35K miles & needs to be replaced. I used on 1999 Tahoe had the tires rotated had new shocks at 100K still tire wore out no better at 35K miles. This tire would be ok for dry roads but no good for snow at all. No more Long Trail TA tires anything else has to be better.

I bought a 1999 Tahoe with BFG Long trail TA's on it and drove about 72000 miles before getting new ones. I went from 245's to 265's and got over 83000 miles on the second set. I drove mostly highway miles but also drove some offroad miles while hunting and fishing. I would highly recommend these tires. I now have a second vehicle for driving to work and am going to try the rugged trail TA's. Anyone have comments on those? Thanks BFG for such great tires. Oh yeah, my most recent tires are Firestone and they are almost bald at about 40000 miles. I'll never buy Firestone again!

PURCHASED THESE TIRES IN 2010. WERE GREAT THE FIRST WINTER BUT TREAD WORE OUT QUICKLY. ADVERTISED TO LAST UP TO 60K MILES BUT DIDN'T EVEN LAST ME 20K. HOPING BF GOODRICH WILL STAND BEHIND THEM. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE TIRES.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Replacing a set
These tires came stock on my 2004 Nissan Frontier. I now have 51,000 miles on the truck and I need to replace them. The front tires are badly worn on the outer edge and are at 2/32 tread depth across the center of the tire. The rear tires have worn slightly more in the center than on the outer edge, and are at 2/32 in the middle, 3/32 on the outer edge. I will point out that in 51,000 miles I have NEVER rotated these tires, and have never had an alignment. If I had done that I may have gotten 60,000-65,000 out of them. They perform well in snow, and do fine on wet pavement. The only problem I ever had was from a dead stop, no weight in the back of the truck I would spin tires at times. However, that was probably do to the manual transmission and no weight in the back. I would get them again, but I fear getting tires that are out of round. Seems from the reviews these are hit or miss, so I am leaning towards toyo open country or Yokohama Geolanders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by barefoot Very good product
I bought new f-150 ford pickup with standard cab, long bed in 2004. The B.F. Goodrich long trail tire came with it. I have put 77066 miles on these tires with no problem. The sidewall was good , no dryrot. I still had 4/32nds of tread on all tires. I rotated them maybe 3 times. For a tire for general use on or off the pavement and pulling pontoon boat and other heavy trailered loads, it can't be beat. I would reccommend these tires to firestone or maybe hankook. Thanks Edgar Gregg

Rated 2 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Poor treadwear
We have these tires on a Toyota 4-Runner 2WD. I have no complaints other than the treadwear was very poor. We had the tires balanced and rotated regularly, inflated to the proper pressure and the tread was still worn smooth in the center after about 30000 miles. They lasted another 8000 miles before being replaced but traction was poor in the rain. Nowhere close to the 60000 miles they are rated at. I will not purchase these tires again.

Just finishing up 2nd set. Came on my chevy truck when I purchased the truck in 2004. Just buying my 3rd round at 150K. I pull a pontoon regularily in the summer from lake to lake and this is our main vehicle going to work during the week. put air in your tires they won't squel, handling not an issue. Big thing is traction in snow, great for 4 WD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SamuelFerahio okay tire
Plush feeling tire, softened up the ride of my Jeep Cherokee. Not having any road noise like other users. Tires that are supple like these have less responsive steering. I did get a flat through the top of the tire(I work in an area with sheet metal and such). They are a decent tire for the money if you drive in town and freeway, but get the road hazard warranty if offered.
