The installation of my new battery was done quickly and professionally. However, I think the extra charge to do so after paying $200+ for the battery is a bit much. The standard install is $14.95 and then they charge an additional $38.00 because my battery is located under the passenger seat. I can't help it that that is where the manufacturer placed it and I don't see why I should be penalized. It seems to me that installing the battery in this location is no harder and in fact probably easier than under the hood. Luckily I had a coupon that waived the standard install fee portion. I understand that other parts companies do not charge any install fee

I thought I was saving time by using the Pep Boys website to look for my Nissan Versa battery to reserve it before my appointment.
Unfortunately the original battery doesn't fit the battery mount (proprietary design?). While it took more than a couple of hours, Pep Boys not only tried the original size I selected but also found one that would fit and discounted the cost by 10% because of my long wait.

Lol, went here to get a battery put in my car. I had already placed the order online and assumed it would be as simple as...... putting a battery in a car?
They decided once I arrived that the free installation would not be honored and I needed to pay 120 dollars more because my car was a rolls royce and that there was a higher level of difficulty associated with this installation (without looking at the vehicle).. note the battery is in the trunk and takes about 5 minutes to install also all the specifications of my car etc were already inputted online so it should not have been a shocker once I arrived with the car. Anyway thanks for the managers critical thinking ability because the "mechanics" did nothing more than say its 120 because its a rolls royce talk to a manager if you don't like it. I won't even get into the details of them getting about 3 incorrect batteries or placing a wrench on the negative and positive posts, but needless to say i won't be returning. God forbid my tire needs air its probably a 300 dollar upcharge because its a rolls royce.

Via PepBoys.com purchased the battery and scheduled an appointment for the install. Online, from answering questions about the car, PB.com shows the promos and discounts. This time a percentage off the battery and "FREE" install. i was there for my appointment, the store had no record of it. I gave the rep a copy of my online receipt with order/conformation number. He couldn't find it in the system. He rewrote the order. After it was completed he wanted to charge me for the install. I showed him the coupon, and was told it didn't qualify because I have a Chevy HHR and battery is in the back and its more work for them. I explained the online survey about my car knew that and still offered the FREE install. The rep offered a discount install. I wasn't about to argue on the floor so i told him ill call Corp for a resolve and was going to pay for the install. The rep eventually honored the FREE install coupon but pointed out in the fine print it excluded what they consider more work to complete.

It is very cheap to get your battery installed, but it cost more than advertised. This was due yo my car being a ford escape.and it was harder. But only took them 25 minutes. It was alot cheaper than any other place though. Very good service and prices

I purchased a battery and arranged for installation on-line. The process was seamless. The service manager promptly took care of all paper work when I arrived and a technician began changing out the battery in short order. When the changeover was complete the check-out went smoothly as well. I highly recommend Pep Boys.

I have a 2-1/2 year old SUV that suddenly stopped working at the gas pump. SO, I found a neighbor to help me get home, and went online to schedule an appointment to have a new battery installed @ Pep Boys. The next morning I drove my SUV to Pep Boys for some very timely service - they installed a new battery!

Terrible experience. Installed new battery and broke existing holding bracket. Informed me that it will be fine without it.
Battery acid from existing batttery not removed from terminals. Had to bring car to another mechanic to finish job properly.
