The need to purchase, if you change the sensor yourself.

Some oxygen sensors are fused to the pipe after decades of heat and rust. This socket just barely fit onto my old sensor (the wiring on the end makes it difficult) and because of the slot down one side (needed to accommodate the wiring), when I applied aggressive force to unscrew the sensor, it temporarily deformed and expanded, slipping off. It finally broke the old sensor in half. That got rid of the end with the wiring, so I was able to slip a regular heavy-duty socket onto the stub and use a breaker bar to bust it loose. Then I switched back to this socket in order to install the new sensor, which didn't require a lot of force.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Emilio The Right tool for the job
So my father was showing me how to replace the O2 sensor on a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville. Unfortunately the placement of the bolt and parts to remove were out of any average persons arm length. Pep boys had the tool we needed to remove the sensor and make a 30 minute job into a 10 to 15 minute process. I felt this was a good buy since it was the first time for me learning about this process.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KenL Socket could be deeper
Good quality socket, but not quite deep enough to allow lead to fit inside on top. Really have to press down to allow socket to engage sensor hex.
