Rated 1 out of 5 by clynn1401 The fuel pump had the wrong high pressure outlet size
The fuel pump manufacturer has an error in their application listing that Pep Boys uses. The unit that I bought for my 2006 Infiniti G35 had the wrong high pressure outlet size. Thankfully, Pep Boys refunded my money with NO HASSLE.

The fuel pump has been installed a little over 3 weeks and is working great, and haven't had any issues with the pump.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Newnze Don't trust the Spectra wiring instructions
I had to do the job twice. Spectra's instructions for using their aftermarket wire harness was incorrectly labeled. I wired according to the provided diagram then reinstall and reassembled the fuel tank. I tried to prime the pump and pressurize the system then attempted to start the vehicle. The engine cranked and cranked without starting. After disassembling the whole show a second time and confirming that everything was assembled correctly I plugged the pump into the vehicles wiring harness, disconnected the supply and return line then turned the key to accessory to run the pump. The pump hummed but no fuel came from the supply line. I then contacted tech support, after 20 minutes on hold It was explained to me that their instructions are mislabeled and that they have not yet taken all the misprints out of circulation. This misprint causes the installer to wire the pump so that it runs in reverse which explains why it wasn't pushing fuel, it was sucking fuel. Once wired correctly it worked as expected. I'm sure it will work fine for the rest of the vehicles lifetime but I give this pump two stars due to the fact that Spectra's mistake caused me to have to do the job twice taking four hours as opposed to two. When you pay $206.00 for a fuel pump you kind of expect the directions to be accurate. Probably will avoid Spectra parts in the future.

This pump was easy to install once I got the gas tank out. I was initially hesitant because my gas tank was nearly full, but I siphoned most of the gas out to lessen the weight. My van runs like new now. I am very happy with this product!

Your fuel pump is to expensive for what it is made out of. It only has a fuel indicator float and a dc motor and shouldn't cost over $60.00 .

had to drop the tank a couple times to get the float arm adjusted properly. I thought it was not working at first I had 10 gallons in the tank and it read empty. didn't have time to mess with it any more so I JUST FILLED THE TANK TO MAKE SURE i was safe for a day and it read full when I topped off. first time I ever had to calibrat one because it was 16 gallons off the mark......

I have already returned this once due to the pump sensor not working properly. Pep Boys quickly exchanged the product and now the second one is having same issue. I will be returning it again. It has cost much more in time than it should.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sirsnapalot just what I expected.
went to pick up any Salem New Hampshire store and beside the guy behind the counter being extremely rude, my pep boys experience is always just fine. I have spoken to him before and have gotten responses as "not my job" and "why don't you ask the guy that works in that department"

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wade After over a year of use
The fuel pump is still pumping fine after over a year. The big problem I have had is the fuel gauge is now not accurate. It actually reads that my tank is empty when it has about 5 to 7 gallons of fuel. This is quite annoying having to get gas every 100 to 150 miles just to play it safe but it is better than the other way around and having the gauge show more fuel than it actually has. For those who have never replaced a fuel pump like this before, you have to remove the entire gas tank so its not worth trying to take apart to fix the gauge glitch. It is unfortunate that the gauge uses a float on the fuel pump. The original float probably would have lasted forever.
