Rated 5 out of 5 by bam7765 great compressor
I bought this compressor for on-board air for my wrangler. This with a 3 gal tank and a multi port air manifold will be all I need. I don't think you will be able to run air tools but you can fill a tire no problem.

This is the best compressor you can buy for the money. It works great even on over-sized offroad tires and will fill up my 33" from 10 to 33 PSI in just a few minutes.
Just remember that it gets hot so give it time to cool off before you put it away.
The bag it comes with is really cheap and will break soon - plan accordingly

Rated 5 out of 5 by YadayadaMike For the price, can't beat this compressor
Got this for $42 and change after using the 30% off coupon. Its a solid compressor, which I will be using when I air down at the beach with my truck.
Pro: Good value with a solid warranty
Con: The compressor gets mighty hot after filling for tires so be careful and allow it cool down

Rated 4 out of 5 by Yunque15 Good for Off-Roading
Great for the price. It's not as good as on board air or a CO2 tank, but those are way out of my price range. I've aired up 32" tires from 20psi to 42psi in less than 2mins per tire. I have also aired up 8 tires in a row and the compressor didn't slow down. The bag does not seem very durable but it should last with care and I really like it. It has room for my air down tool, extra valve covers and cores, and a real pressure gauge. My big complaint is the built in pressure gauge, it is not accurate. It even has a sticker on it that says it's inaccurate! At least it gives some idea of the pressure so I can over-inflate a bit and then air down to the proper psi.
I can't comment on durability since I've only used it 4 times. An accurate gauge and better quality bag would give it 5 stars all around.
note: Having the engine running while using the compressor greatly increases the speed of the compressor motor.

Was able to air up my 31x10.50R15 wheels very quickly. Not even more than a minute each tire

Nice little compressor for the price. Used it to set beads on my motorcycle tires.

Rated 4 out of 5 by danilko Wasn't paying attention, almost over-inflated my tire.
Situation: Several of my tires had a slow leak. I tried to get them serviced, and no one would do it. Too old, they said. I have been playing musical gas station, filling tires, getting tired. I ran over something again, but this time a tire started playing, "Gone With The Wind." I should get new tires. I decided on two things. Patching and Filling. I started shopping around, reading reviews. I almost settled on a VIAIR P77. I knew it's output was too low for my tires, but it was better than what I had. Then I found the MF-1050 at the same price. I saw that Jeepers loved the MF-1050, as well as it's twin. It's not perfect, but it's a keeper, I kept reading. It's comparable to the VIAIR 400, but one fifth the price. DONE
The Good: It is reasonably fast enough. I suspect it is as fast as the air compressor at Arco, down the street, but five times faster than at Chevron. I won't be going out for air, from now on. A nice thing, this compressor has what looks like a standard 1/4" NPT, quick connect. It looks identical to my air tools. I mention this, because it is contrary to what is written in forums. In 2005 or so it was different or custom, and Jeepers were taping and replacing the connector, for off roading. I am so pleased. I won't need to do this.
The Bad: The tire pressure gage has some lines and numbers, but doesn't mean all that much. What I can depend on, my tire pressure is low, medium, high. It might be 40 PSI or it might 50. It's untrustworthy, or needs to be calibrated. With that said, I tried three cheap pop out gages, and all three were different. The highest was 50 PSI. I need to find a solution for that. Also there's no real way to test the pressure, while inflating. The air intake, the filter. It's ugly, and annoying. I don't see any other model with this design. It has to be installed and removed when packing and unpacking. The filter is needed though.
Conclusion: I believe the MF-1050 is a pro tool with a consumer price. It has minor problems, that we can do nothing about. The compressor is not user serviceable, however that is only during the warranty period. From forums, there's a lot you can do to maintain it, under the hood, so to speak. I won't advocate this. But I find this reassuring. For any complaints I have read, there are solutions. It would be nice if the gauge on the body were better. I won't hold it against it though. It would be nice if there was a low profile filter that can remain on, at all times. - BUY
