by DannyD Works great
I've been using it for two months now, haven't had any problems. No leaks, no binding. Smooth turning. It is a heavy unit so you might need someone to help you. It took me about four hours, the hardest part was trying to fit it in between the frame and other obstacles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RedneckGarage Sloppy rebuild
I'm on my second gear box.
The first one was as sloppy as the old one I removed.
The second one was slightly better but still very poor quality
My whole front end is new so I am certain it's the box plus I can actually see the slop between the input and output shafts
I have already replaced both upper and lower control arms including bushings and ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm

It has way too much slop in it. I will be replacing it with a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Toyi Not very happy with product
Steering box has been in my truck for less than a month and steering has been feeling stiff, now I have no power assist turning left plus I have to wait because part is not in stock plus I have to take the part to the store first to get the replacement. If new one has same defect, I will return part and ask for refund.

after approx. $450 worth of my labor to replace a worn out steering gear box the input shaft seal on the rebuilt on leaked like it wasn't there. Another approx. $450 worth of my labor replaced that one. So far this one is working

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frank1 first one leaked all over the place
Bought the atasco gear box because it was a really good has b price, until my daughter was driving it and it started leaking from a bottom seal all over my driveway!! In hindsight I should have purchased an AGR high performance gear box. So far it been 2 weeks. keep you posted on this gear box

Product worked fine, returned old unit to the store for core credit. I would recommend this product to anyone replacing a steering gear box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by c2bo modified input gear, didn't match original
Everything looked fine when I pulled it out of the box, but the new gear box was missing a 1/4" diameter pin that projects about 3/4" out of the input gear which mates to your steering column. Closer inspection revealed that the pin appeared to have been hand-ground off until flush with the top of the input gear. This may have been done by a previous purchaser, I don't know, but nothing worse than finding out in the middle of a job that you don't have the parts you need and your truck is missing critical pieces. Huge props to my wife for making an emergency run to a competing store while I did some other work on the truck!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rusty1 Steering Gear Box
No complaints about this gear box. Fit was good and part was clean. Maybe seems to be a bit stiff, but my old box had 300,000 miles and leaking bad. No big deal to install and bleed. Pitman arm can be difficult to work with. Plenty of online videos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by nucher Well packaged to protect the steering gear
Everything worked great after it was installed. Difficulty of installation was due to the steering column not collapsing like it should due to the age of the old one but the box fit perfectly. Since I coated every nut and bolt when I do something with Anti-seize, the old one came right out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by OLDSKOOL60 product failed after 8 months; Staff superior Customer Service
I purchase this gear box and at first I was very pleased. As time went on I noticed it began to leak. I immediately replaced the return hose because the pressure hose was replaced when I replaced the gear box. Afterwards I notice it was leaking from the gear box. It was only 8 months old. I had to replace it.
The positive thing about this is the staff of Pepboys in Randallstown, expecially Devon (salesmen). He sold me the original gear box and made sure I was taken care of. He provided me with some of the best customer service I grown acustom to at the Randallstown, MD, location. I give them 10 STARS**********!!!! GREAT TEAM!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by TheNeens This product is poorly rebuilt
I received 2 steering gear boxes, rebuilt by ATSCO, that leaked immediately...The parts manager was kind enough to get a 3rd box from an outside source to take care of me...

Rated 3 out of 5 by DJRover Exact fit for Range Rover Classic Steering Box - packaging awful
The part was an exact fit for Range Rover Classic steering box. However, the package arrived and the output shaft that connects to the steering shaft was sticking out of the shipping box (see pic attached). Didn't notice that the collar and seal were damaged because of it. Looked like it was dropped at least once during transit. I installed the part - seemed ok, but all the power steering fluid emptied out in my driveway out of that seal the first night. Local PepBoys was great and got me a new part overnight at no charge. No surprise that the same thing happened with the second one. The same output shaft was poking through the cardboard packaging. Not as drastic as the first shipment. The new part is installed and seems ok right now, but am concerned if the stress during shipping will shorten the life of that front collar/seal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tonka1 Works great. No more play in steering
After 220,000 miles on my Astro van, the steering gear needed to be replaced. It had play in the pitman shaft and was starting to seep power steering fluid. I installed the remanufactured steering gear on my van and it took care of all of my problems.
