1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager, removing the original hub assembly after 18 years. I'd struggled for several hours the day before trying to remove the stuck front hub bearing assembly from the axle, to no avail. The next day I rented this tool, within 15 minutes after I got it home the hub was off. Go slow, use plenty of PB Blaster or equivalent solvent, tap the hub with hammer a few times every quarter turn to help vibrate and loosen things up - that'll help keep from deforming the end of the axle. Once the hub was off I cleaned up the splines and steering knuckle with a wire brush, added a thin coat of grease, and the new hub went on fine with a few light taps of a hammer. Wish I'd just rented this tool from the start instead of fighting the stuck hub for several wasted hours. This tool should work fine most hubs but note it's not designed to be used with air tools.

this hub puller is basically an incomplete tool. The hub puller presses against the axel bolt, but axels are not solid and you end up pushing the axel in and compressing it. This can damage the axel...Not good. I would recommend using a slide hammer, which USED to include the hub puller. BUT Pepboys decided to make two separate tools and now you'll need to rent BOTH to do the job right.
this tool is however goo at putting the hub back on. It's pulls against the axel and pulls the hub back in well...However, Depending on the length of your axel bolt, it may not pull it in enough. I had this issue and I had to use the axel nut to fully push the hub all the way down.

This is a great program provided by Pep Boys. I purchased rear bearings for my Honda as the dealer was saying cost of replacing bearings would run up to $900. The problem I had was specialized tools to perform the job would cost me a small fortune. Pep Boys had the tools I needed and all I had to give was a deposit. Upon returning the tools I was refunded my deposit. Without this program I couldn't have done the job myself.
