Well-remanufactured but incorrectly assembled.
This Starter was for a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder XE 4WD. Mounted near the top of the Starter is a sheet-metal shield, to protect the wiring from the heat of the nearby exhaust manifold. The shield mounts to the Starter via three threaded holes in the Starter body. When the new Starter was installed, the shield prevented the main bolts from lining up. The problem turned out to be that the cylindrical steel body of the Starter itself was mis-aligned from the main aluminum mounting-end casting. It was necessary to loosen the two long bolts that hold the Starter together, rotate the body about 5 degrees CCW with respect to the mounting-end casting, and then re-tighten the bolts. When the Starter was then re-installed, the shield fit in its original position, and the mounting bolts lined up correctly. Solving this problem considerably increased the time required to replace the Starter. A fixture should have been used to assemble the Starter, to prevent this mis-alignment.

So far so good, about a month in.
It's a starter, it either works or not.This worked. Not much else to say, hopefully it works a long time. The original lasted almost 20 years, so I hope this lasts till the car dies.

The re manufactured starter work and looks great. A little trouble installing it in my 53 Chevy Pickup with a SB 350. It's tight in there! Worked out just fine! Sales people were great, and ordering on-line and picking up at the store was easy! Great price and a great deal!

Works Great, Pain to Install
If any of you have installed a starter on a newer civic at home, you'd know what a pain in the butt it is. it has been a few weeks since we installed the starter and it works great, very very quick to start even in the frigid air we've had in the north east recently. Only time will tell how long this will last, but otherwise very pleased.

ProStart Remanufactured Starter in a FORD 4.6l
Having it in the cargo truck for three days now and it works fine, the original OEM motorcraft starter lasted 204k miles before it said good night, the only difference is the sound, It sounds kind of like a faint supercharger type whine but not exactly, but I will miss the OEM starter sound it was genuine FORD, this sounds different like it stated in the pamphlet but I like things to factory spec and sound, but for the price and lifetime warranty its pretty dam good and I installed it myself in less than in 1/2 hour while it was raining.

Good Starter + Easy install on 97 Avalon
Starter looked good in the box. My old starter was acting up and the bendix would not kick in. This is an easy job on my 97 Toyota Avalon.
Procedure: 1 Remove battery, air box (top and bottom) and cruise control module. All were held in with 10mm bolts/nuts. 2 Unbolt starter 2-14mm bolts, unbolt main power to starter 12mm, unplug starter 12v key start. 3 Install starter and wires. 4. Install in cruise control, air box and battery. Test start.
