We have a 2006 saturn ion, the gm dealer we had always gone to since buying the car, told us we needed new front struts and gave us a cost for the service of $750.00, parts and labor. Looking through strut cost on line, we saw that, Monroe sells a struct and coil assembly, where you remove the old assembly and install the new one, so you get a new strut and coil and the installation is pretty easy. Looking at prices on line we found Pep Boys had a good price and we had a Pep boys, coupon. Ordered the struts, picked them up that afternoon, we installed them that weekend, made a appoinment With Pep Boys and had the front tires aligned. Total cost for all around $450.00. That a great product and a great savings.

Have a 1997 Ford Escort LX, applied brakes and the car was bouncing around, got up to 65, the back wanted to pass the front. Come to find out the rear springs on both sides had broke in almost the exact same place! Had the boys replace all 4, Rides and holds the road like a brand new car

Rated 3 out of 5 by GregS Fine price and product, but not great delivery.
I ordered these Monroe strut/spring combos. for my '03 Grand Am. I ended up ordering online for in-store pickup because the web site said the parts were in stock at my local Pep Boys available for pickup that day. Plus they were running an additional 20% off suspension component order of >$100 when placed online. So the price was the cheapest I could find anywhere online and I was going to be able to have them in my hand the same day. After placing my order at 7:00 a.m. I expected to get my confirmation email that same day so I could grab my parts and get to work. When I still hadn't received my email by the end of the day I called customer service who told me the online status of the parts was incorrect and that the parts should be in stock in 2-3 business days. After 2 or 3 days and still no email I called the local store to try to see what was going on. They guy I talked to said that the parts had been delivered the day before and that he would "check them in" after we got off the phone and my email would arrive shortly. When I went to the store the next day to pick them up the salesperson had to search and search for my parts only to find them back on the shelf to be sold. Fortunately they were still there so I got to take them home with me. In the long run it all worked out... A few days behind schedule, but the price was great. I would use Pep Boys again to order parts, but I think I learned that you need to keep on top of them.

The quick-strut assembly makes changing front struts a DIY job. There is no need to disassemble the strut requiring a spring compressor and patience. The assembly is ready to use and properly torqued. Just remove the old and bolt in the new. A drift was required to assist in lining up the holes on the new strut assembly which was very slightly longer than the worn one, restoring the proper ride height. The ride is comparable to when the vehicle was new, 140,000 miles ago!

Rated 5 out of 5 by eagleye47 Took about 4 hours to complete job.
Worst part of the experience was breaking the old pinch bolts.
once removed the installation was easy every thing went together, been driving with new struts and springs now for about a month, couldn't be happier.
improved ride and handling great product would recommend to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tromper Does the job. Purchase process needs a little work
A great improvement over the 20 year old 100k struts it replaced. seems to be of good quality, & "Made in USA" means something to me.
With the "Shocktober" rebate the price was comparable to online with the added advantage of a "local" store.
The process itself could have been a bit more clear since there was no note I recalled that since I was doing store pickup that it wouldn't be trackable online.
As it was things worked out O.K., but it took a bit of extra fussing.

Very easy to install these struts. The ONLY thing is that the sway bar link had to be cut off from the sway bar and strut but, that is not the struts fault.
