Rated 5 out of 5 by PJ777 Great features and easy to use
Clear display and easy to understand audible voice alerts. Cord on left works better for my vehicle. No annoying false alerts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by musicman317 Never had a ticket since I got this
After getting a $278 speeding ticket from a radar gun I figured if your going to point something at me I'm going to point something right back you. So I did some research and ran out and purchased this detector. It's a bit expensive but worth it. It's already paid for itself because it's prevented me from getting any more speeding tickets. It also warns you of red light cameras. With GPS it eliminates false alarms around town. Plus I bought the subscription that keeps it updated with all the new red light cameras going up. Easy to plug into computer to update. Great item. I have one in both our cars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carlos Passport 9500ix Blue
Passport 9500ix Blue is the best detector I've ever owned. It has great accuracy, range and is very quiet once auto learn learns all your false encounters. The blue is easier to see in all light sources. I've owned red L.E.Ds on my past detectors and it was difficult to see in bright light sources. The detector is a bit expensive but, you'll over look the cost once you've tried this detector out. I was a little hesitant in buying this unit because of price but, as I said before, you'll soon get over the price once you see how well the detector works for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by frieddillpickle Doesn't Perform to the Hype
Made several road trips through CO, UT, SD this summer and the only alerts I got were the random X-Band "noise" from stores, motion detectors and signs. Passed many State Troopers and luckily for me I wasn't exceeding the speed limits by more than 5-7 mph because they were waving to me before the detector went off. Maybe this thing works in a more controlled environment but for me, it's a dash board ornament that I don't trust. The fact that they are willing to give me $120 for the 9500ix (for which I paid $500) towards an upgrade to their "best new one" that costs $549, suggests they don't have any faith in the 9500ix either.

I bought this unit a couple of years ago. Having to drive across TX was such a relief. When i about the Android smart cord to pair up with that bad boy, wow! It was stolen on July 4 2013 and since then i feel naked.. I will be placing an order for the Max now. TY 9500IX

Rated 5 out of 5 by drj356 Great overall - 9500IX for 4 years
I have had my 9500IX for 4 years and it has saved my bacon numerous times - particularly with Ka. The sensitivity is incredible. The learning feature is very cool & is always adding false points to ignore so it is amazingly quiet. My one complaint relates to red light camera detection. Even though the unit has GPS built in it can't seem to detect the fact that you're near the intersection - but not on that road (e.g on a freeway over/underpass at 80mph and you're not slowing down) and the darn thing still alerts because it knows you're adjacent to the camera. Admittedly this is a minor issue but its an irritant - particularly if you travel that route frequently. I still give it 5 stars overall & will buy another when this one dies. May have to step up to the Max next time

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ronster love the hard wired feature, and all the others that go...
In the past two years have driven cross country several times and currently drive a lot of highways in Texas. Texas roads are notorious endless drives, on several different occasions my detector went off confirming my legal speed of travel there would be several miles before I would spot the the Texas trooper along the highway. This is a must have for anyone who drives...AWESOME detector. On a note I just purchased the new Passport Max, looking forward to what type of performance it will deliver, if its anything as good as the 9500ix Passport or better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by notbornyesterday Made My V1 Obsolete
I had been a V1 user since its debut in 1994, but had been using it less and less because of its extreme propensity to false. It came to the point that I began ignoring alerts because it falsed so much. When the 9500ix came out in 2009 I decided to order one and try it out during the 30 day trial period. At first I thought the thing was defective it was so quiet. However, after taking it on a long grueling twelve hour trip I discovered that was not the case. It has exceptional range on K band and both Ka bands used in my state and as far as I can tell I get the same range as my V1, just without the falses. Off axis is excellent. Once I was on the Parkway and picked up radar the rangers were running a good ways back. When I finally came upon the source it was between two sharp curves and they were parked down a side road. That really impressed me. The auto and manual lock outs work great and as advertised.

The 9500ix is far the BEST radar detector money can buy...NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! I would recommended Vin Diesel, The Rock and Brian to use these 9500ix to track all law enforcement vehicles in that movie, LOL *Chucklings!!!*

This is by far the best detector I have owned. It works well and has already paid for itself. I have used it daily for almost two years. Previously I owned a Beltronic 985 model. Escort is the only brand I will own from here on out. Keep up the GREAT work. MB Houston, TX

Rated 3 out of 5 by Biglil392 Great for red light cameras
Doesn't pick up police aiming radar guns at you in Fl. Doesn't go off at all even when you are passing them. Doesn't work in SC on I95. Received ticket coming on the highway from a service center in SC, officer claimed he picked me up a 1/2 mile back which was a lie. Still radar didn't pick up a signal. It is only good for red light camera's. I travel a lot and it is not working. It goes off after you pass the trooper or doesn't go of at all. I am going back to my scrambler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jojo this product is amazing!
I live in downtown boston and within 4 days the auto learn mastered all the false signals...It has payed for it self already...as to the live app I dont see buying it does not benefit the owner of the 9500ix so what incentive do we have to spend 100 bucks

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ecomshopper Works on the floor
I work in Washington DC and Dectors R not permitted, so I keep it on the seat under a small towel. it detects radar and keeps track of GPS locations flawlessly. It is very sensitave. I have had it about six months and it no longer connects via USB for up dates, I will be calling in the morneing, hopefuly they will stand behind their product. This is a great detector but it is not cheep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ColoradoSkier Great for Radar...Not for Laser
I have this detector. I got two speeding tickets with it on. Both times it was due to the officer using laser. Does not help in that situation. Otherwise, it's very good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mmescort VERY short sensing and alert distance. Installed with...
I have used the 9500 iX for several years. Unfortunately in the rural area which I live, as I see the cop, thats when the alert goes off. I have not been able to adjust the range or accuracy to compensate, even in the auto mode. Driving 7-10 miles over the limit I have received several tickets in the last 3 years. The unit is very accurately installed with a laser alignment. The GPS alert has been useful to remind me when I am coming up on a photo section. Overall I am not happy with range or sensitivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LBDieselPower Scared to drive without it! Goes with me when I travel.
No sir I was not speeding, really, I had my cruise control on 67mph.....technically that is speeding but not the 81mph the Trooper said I was doing. After that, I lost my faith in the men in green who patrol our highways and decided to get a little protection. I bought the 9500ix with the Smart Cord Live feature. I can't imagine driving on any highway or interstate without the Smart Cord Live feature. What a game changer! I was amazed how many alerts I got the first time I used it and I live in a rural area. The feature only gets better in major metropolitan areas. The range & accuracy of the 9500ix plus the Smart Cord Live give you the best defense and will make you a SAFER driver because you will be more aware of how you drive and more aware of what is REALLY going on around you, behind you and in front of you. The fact that both are portable is a big plus. I won't travel without my Escort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RTRMUSTANGNO4 Don"t leave home without it.
I have used escort detectors for a long time. I use my 9500i every day and it keeps me aware of those pesky red light cameras. I do have one issue with my 9500i, It will give me multiple laser alerts every few minutes or so at random on the same stretch of roads I use.(my other unit the IQ does'nt have this problem) Seems to be some kind of glitch, goes away for awhile after updating it. Great features and easy to use update tool. All in all, its a great unit. highly recommend it to our lead foot fellow drivers and our site seeing friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Blackhawk Good product but needs work.
I had no problem until one day driving down the hiway I came across a police oficer on the side of road and as soon as i saw him the dector went off without any warning and it was not laser. So guess what I got a ticket first one in 58 years. I am thinking that I should not depend on the detector. However ther have been times that it did go off in time and saved me. Just goes to show that nothing is perfect.

It works as advertised and with the EL feature, you really have to try to get a ticket. This is after a 4000 mile trip through the US.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrBig Excellent unit w/ minor faults
This unit works great and has proven itself a number of times for me. Especially like the multi signal capability showing more than one radar in the area. Don't like: Has a mono speaker out - not conducive to most cord attachments and bluetooth/other types of units. You have to add a mono to stereo plug. Use of a stereo plug inadvertently can easily blow the audio out requiring a return to Escort. Escort fails to acknowlege and fix known issues, ie: On many vehicles... sounding your horn sets off the Laser alert. Really? Odd but true.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pointer Needs Band Segmentation and RDR Selectivity
Great unit for city use and easy to understand. It really needs to be souped-up like the Redline with Band segmentation and RDR selectivity to give it that extra oomph against other units. I do like the fact that it has RLC/Spped cam capability and this is great for city use. BUT for pure highway performance, it really need band segs and RDR.

This is a great detector, it would be my favorite if it had RDR / BS like it's big brother the REDLINE. Please add this feature to extend the range and accuracy of this detector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bond007 Great Detector, but windshield mount needs improvement.
This is a great Detector, but the windshield suction cups need improvement. I have it mounted right behind the rear view mirror and use the extra cord to wrap around the detector to hold it in place, but this is trying to get the cord to stay in place. I have considered using plastic ties around the rear view mirror to support and hold it in place. Problem is if I travel in a state that outlaws detectors then I have a problem removing it. For the price you pay for this detector the mounts should be much much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gremlin great detector, cheap mount that keeps dropping off...
Detector is great, but for the price you think there would be a better mounting system than the 2 small suction cups. Keep finding it on floor after the overnight temps go below 32. Looking for a bean bag and then I will place it on the dash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pfmsu Love it but missing one great feature
I had been an owner of another radar detector brand but rarely used it. The constant alarms, especially around town, turned it into background noise which I often found myself ignoring. The ability of this detector to remember locations where false alarms are triggered makes this something I use every day. I know that when it beeps it is a real radar signal so I take notice. It has great range which is both a blessing and a curse. While it gives me great advance notice I have no idea where the signal is coming from. The detector often goes off and I never see where the cop/speed trap is. This makes not having any indication as to where the source of the signal is coming from the only real drawback to this otherwise great product.
