Rated 2 out of 5 by TheRobin Great light quality, but poor value; dead in 21 months
Installed in basement application, open fixture. Pleasant bright white light, and instant on at full intensity. However, lasted 21 months at usage of less than an hour per day on average. Expensive lamp.

Not a big fan of soft white lights to start with......but HD hasn't had Daylight bulbs for a couple of months. light was very poor, I get more light out of a 40 W equivalent bulb than this....The only use would be as a nightlight for people to see when they get up in the middle of the night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mechengineer great product
I love these lamps. I now have 4 of them and they're a great alternative to CFLs. The absence of mercury is great for indoor environmental health (especially if you have kids) and good on the environment. Aesthetically, I think they are more pleasing to the eye, compared to other LEDs out there. I would like to see if these are LM-79 and LM-80 tested.

Rated 2 out of 5 by energymiser 2 of 3 bulbs burned out within a year
I did like these and am wanting to switch out most of the bulbs in our house to LED (except for small areas that an incandescent can warm enough to keep pipes from freezing during cold snaps without having to run a 600w heater, like the pump house). But if I am paying $30 for a 3-pack at Home Depot, I expect them to at least last more than 5 years. Two of these burned out within a year. Until product can perform more consistently, I would hold off making that kind of investment.

I am switching out most of my CFL's that were outside or in my basement because they kept burning out after 6 - 8 months. The CFL's didn't handle moisture/cold very well.
Looking forward to longer lasting bulbs with this latest generation LED from Philips. They look great (light color, estetiue), dim extremely well and work instantly in the cold.
They run a tad warm.
