This was my first time replacing a Crankshaft Position Sensor. Things have surely come a long way. This manufacturer made it so it fits over the dowel pin. I didn't need the measuring tool. The Pep Boys clerk recommended the BWD instead of the cheaper one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BobinHB Newer unit with metal shield
I have a 1995 Dodge Neon Sport 2.0L SOHC that had been stalling occasionally for no reason. At first I thought it was the ECU because if I tapped the ECU the car would start running again - go figure. After changing the ECU and that didn't fix the problem, I figured that the crank sensor was the most likely culprit. The original one was all plastic and mine had cracked. Amazing it was working at all.
This newer style unit is better made with a metal housing and a new plug. This unit comes with a new plug and pigtail. The 3 wires on the new plug pig tail are the correct colors to match the car side harness. The toughest part of the job was stripping the wires on the car's harness because there was only about 1.5" of exposed wire from the harness then I had to crimp the new plug wires onto the car's wires in a cramped position underneath the car right next to the right side half shaft - not fun but done.
Car has been running better - it doesn't stall anymore and it idles much smoother. If you have an old Neon and are having rough idle, random stalls and occasions when you go to start the car and it cranks but doesn't start then chances are you need to change the crank sensor - FIRST! Its inexpensive and except for the 1995 models - all newer ones already have the newer plug so changing the crank sensor out is plug-n-play and way cheaper than the ECU.

Works well so far. Fit and Finish were better than other store's generic parts. These don't appear to be a generic store brand.

This crankshaft sensor works well. I no longer suffer misfires while driving and I seem to have better acceleration. This replacement product was an exact fit and installed with no problem. I have had good success with BWD products in the past, such as their ignitor for my Toyota is working well and seems better than the original. It turned out that my crankshaft sensor was the real problem, but even so the BWD ignitor took out most of the misfires as it is apparently more sensitive than the original Toyota branded part.
