Buying online and pick my goods up to the local store was a great experience. Everything was perfect for an urgent need. The only thing that disappointed me is that when i unboxed the product (i already noticed the badly wrapped box), it had definitely been used many times before to be refurbished. There were many traces of use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sadcustomer123 too expensive
Unfortunately, the price point for this product is way to expensive as compared to other online shopping (too late for me to find out). Also , it does not look sturdy and could not even wrap around the adult bikes, thus I need to use a rapelling rope to hold it in place and secure it (for fear of falling).

Well-built bike rack, comes with clear instructions.
Good value for the money, especially when you purchase it from PepBoys online, where good discounts are offered online.

I bought this rack for a recent camping trip. Installation was very easy, it takes about 5-10 minutes. It held an adult xl bike and 2, 20 inch kid mountain bikes with no problem. The adjustable/rotating bike straps were very handy due to the different frame styles we have. The only issue I had was related to driver error. I was going about 75 on the highway when train tracks appeared much to my surprise and panic. This caused the rack to bounce and the bottom support arm folded up so the bikes and rack all dropped about 6 inches. The rack and support straps all held and I was able to pull over and re adjust. Note to self SLOW DOWN. The only other suggestion I will share which I read from another review was to add padding on the top and bottom support arms which touch the car. You can do this at a local hardware store for about $3.00 by getting a small piece of insulation/padding used for copper pipes.

The padded part that rests on the trunk should be padded the whole length (not just the ends). It compressed enough that the middle ended up rubbing and scraping my paint job. I put carpet padding under the whole length and it fixed it.
Also, for use, there are 2 straps that hold the bottom of the rack to the bottom of the car. Take one of those and remove it then re-add it but to the pivoting piece (that has padding, it's intended to space the bikes away from the back of the car). This will keep that pivoting piece from flipping up. Otherwise it can flip up if you hit a bump and then all your bikes will be hanging down - very bad, maybe even scraping on the pavement.
Also, I was able to attach those bottom 2 straps to the bottom of the trunk instead of the bottom of the car, which works just as well but also allows you to open and close the trunk with the rack attached.
Lastly, this is not intended for vans, but if your van has a 4-point roof-rack you can attach to the roof-rack with ratchet straps - I found this to be more stable than using the bike rack on a non-van vehicle.

Bought this for my 05 Camry. Easy to install, worked great. The main issue i had was that I have a spoiler, and part of the rack WILL touch the spoiler and damage it in transit if you don't take preventative steps. I covered the spoiler with a piece of pipe insulation to protect it from being rubbed, and wrapped the offending metal on the bike rack with some duct tape. Problem solved!
