Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Paint Eastwood products always preform as expected, this paint works great for touch up on my 69 Camaro, NO problems January 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All Paints Aren't Equal One might be tempted to think what the heck and just grab some hardware store paint. However this chassis paint proves not all paints are not created equal. It covered great, the spray pattern is perfect. The finish is outstanding, just what I was hoping for. October 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Product Great Product but can didn't have a spray nozzle lucky I purchased 2 cans. September 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works great This product has worked very well for the things I have used it for in the past. I made custom pieces for my motorcycle to rework the rear end and get larger saddlebags attached. Sprayed all the parts with Chassis Black and it held up very well for several years with all the stuff that the wheel through at it. Was still in good shape when I sold the bike. I don't rebuild cars but I use this product whenever I want a good strong, lasting finish on something. As an example, I used it on the frame of my trailer when I rebuilt it. September 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great paint product. Not cheap rattle can stuff. My first time using this chassis black, I had not read the instructions and had painted self etching primer over one of my a-arms. So I went ahead and put another black paint on that a-arm and chassis black on bare steel on the other. I had several paint and primer chips during installation on the self etching side. Not a scratch on the Eastwood side. Good stuff. September 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by I like the color Need to shake can for quite a while or it will fisheye, sanded , cleaned , painted, sanded , cleaned. Realized I wasn't shaking can long enough. Nozzle clogs can't use the whole can. At $14.00 a can I wold like to be able to use all of it! August 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like it. It's a little slow to cure in South Mississippi humidy, all paint is, but once it does cure it's there for the duration. I've paint my frame, roll bars, and other random parts with it and not a single complaint. April 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Handy to have. After using the quart size to spray a frame I find this aerosol perfect for touch ups. No excessive prep time and sprays evenly. A couple of light coats is best for the small areas. And if you do any welding, this is a good quick coat to cover bare metal until it's time to finish coat a frame. I always keep some handy. Rated 5 out of 5 by Chassis Black Worked well and went further than expected for a 1956 truck frame. Spayed over rust converter and used two cans. Nice even color and pattern, spray can upside down for a few seconds to clear the nozzle so it doesn't clog if you are going to use it later. February 9, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Covers great, lasts long! Have bought a couple of these chassis blacks and am overall pleased with the results. The only thing I have issues with on occasion is the nozzles will plug up even after you clear them out. Best solution would be to use the whole can at once if possible. January 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice frame paint I had a few sections of frame that needed a touch up. I tried using another brand of chassis paint from an auto parts store and was not happy with the results. So I ordered Eastwood's Chassis Black. I sanded the previous work down to mostly metal, used Eastwood's Pre, added a coat of sandable primer and shot two coats of the Chassis Black. I was happy with the results. The material out of the can is pretty even, the color is good, and application out of a can is easy. I look forward to using it on misc. parts during the restoration. Rated 5 out of 5 by Factory like appearance I haven't had any problems with scratching like others have. My only complaint is the drying time is very long.I used this paint over Rust Encapsulator and was happy with the results. The color is perfect and the coverage is excellent. July 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by very good product it flows and lays nice. the finish looks excellent. July 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Product Product sprays out nice and wears very well. You must follow instructions after use if you want to use the spray product at a future time. It does not spray well after storage for more than 9 months. December 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great product 5 star November 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent quality I have been using chassis satin black paint on a lot of parts i have restored . very happy with this paint for looks and quality . November 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Product The finish of this product is as good as factory finishes. I spray it over a good coat of primer and I haven't had any problems with scratching as others have. My only complaint is the drying time is very long. I too have had 2 of eight cans plug up but I found that the product needs to be shook for a long time before using and frequently during use. I have used it on all my 64 T-bird front suspension and will use it on the rear suspension also. On rusted parts I use Rust Encapsulator first then Chassis black for the top coat for a very tough finished product. November 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Paint We used this paint over Rust Encapsulator and were very happy with the results. The sheen is perfect and the coverage is excellent. Highly recommended. June 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great all-purpose spray It sprays and coats nicely even with heavier coats. It's a lower solid paint so works excellent on pieces with intricate scroll work or shallow stampings. For a buildable coat on older pitted frames simply use Eastwood's "extreme chassis black". this spray works great on all sorts of parts March 27, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product This is the best spraying aerosol paint I've ever used, and it has just the finish I need for the undercarriage, not too glossy or flat, just right. Easy to spray with good coverage, and a rock hard finish that looks good for years. I always keep some in the shop, great for touch-up also. I use it mainly on my off-road Jeeps, and it holds up super, even to pressure washing ! The nozzle has a good spray pattern, never had a problem with that. March 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product I've been restoring cars for over thirty years and this is by far the best spraying aerosol paint I've ever used. The results are excellent! February 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by scratches off easily After doing my entire chassis over the past 2 years, I noticed that every time I went to re-assemble, there would be scratches and scuff marks. I started using extreme chassis black and it took the beating of tools and parts falling on the painted surface. This paint is fine in those places that are never seen but use a primer. February 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of Eastwood's Best Products It's a great product to have on hand for small projects to larger frame repairs and chassis component restorations. Easy to use with excellent repeatability. The finish is quite durable and only really exceeded by powder coating. July 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Durable easy to use paiint I've used this paint in years past on other restorations. The rattle cans lay down a nice smooth finish with a fan spray nozzle that looks right on most chassis parts and frames. I've not had any trouble with clogging either. It dries reasonably quickly and is very durable after it completely dries. It's convenient in that you don't have to crank up the compressor and dirty up the spray gun for small jobs. I used 5 and a half cans on a Corvette frame, but will probably use another couple of cans on miscellaneous pieces. To me, this paint is more than adequate for use on a collector car that's driven and enjoyed. June 9, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Paint - if you can use it all (nozzle problems) I've used this stuff for over 12 years. I did my '68 Camaro in 2001 and it still looks great and is tough as nails. Lots of material in spray, nice flow, great coverage. I still use it for my projects. My only issue is if I don't use the whole can the same day, when using a partial can a few days or weeks later the tip clogs so easily I rarely finish using the entire can. I can't tell you how many 1/2 used cans end up in the trash. I know how to 'flush' a nozzle and I don't have this issue with other brands. Eastwood needs a high quality delivery system to match the high quality paint. May 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by My fave I really like this paint and I've used a lot of it over the years. I got one bad can 4 years ago and Eastwood sent a replacement. March 25, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Paint, Great Coverage I bought 5 cans to do the frame & axles on my 52 Ford F-1. It is a full bodied paint that covers well. Didn't have 1 run on the entire frame. Looks great! I'd use it again in a minute. Bought it during your free shipping promo, which made it an even better deal. Thanks. January 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great to use I've read reviews about nozzle problems and Eastwood now has the adjustable fan nozzles. All nozzles do sometimes plug up and that's why you save all your old nozzles and use as needed. This paint requires serious neglect to make it run. Super coverage and great finish. Remember if you live up north and keep paint in cold garage to bring it in were it can warm up, 24 hrs. best. a warm surface is better than cold, because it dries faster. December 15, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good finish, when it works Of the five cans I have received from Eastwood, three have clogged and stopped working. The clogging happens mid spray and ruined the finish on my freshly prepped part, to which I had to restrip the part. The two cans that did work put down and excellent finish. March 15, 2011
