I have over 30 years working in the high performance industry. Started working for NHRA Professional race teams in the ‘70s where I learned how to fabricate parts and build high power race engines, transmissions and complete cars. My first project car was a ‘65 VW beetle that I turned into a hill racer. The next car that I built in high school was a ‘69 Camaro that I used to street race in. I made enough money with that car to pay for my first year of college. After college I built a 23 T Altered and started racing in Super Comp and then Competition Eliminator on the NHRA tour. With my experience on the racing teams and working as a professional mechanic for the local Chevy, Dodge and Ford dealers, I decided to open my own speed shop in 1990. It took me three years to build the business up to open the door in 1993. I developed the business into a one stop shop for all your high performance needs. From selling a AN fitting to complete race cars. I built a fuel Altered that I ran on the outlaw circuit and a SCCA Formula Vee that I worked up into a 1600 CC engine that produced 150 hp. I built an ‘89 Honda Civic into a rear wheel drive with a 325 blown hemi Toyota V8 engine that runs on the outlaw circuit. The wilder the better for me. Sadly with the down turn in the economy and new EPA regulations I had to close the shop and sell my cars. I enjoyed working with my customers, helping them create their dream machines. From the Classic ‘32 High Boy to the current Formula GT1 I love engineering and then building what the customer wanted. Since joining Pep Boys as a Speed Shop Manager, I have the ability once again to help my customers build their dream machine. So come on down and talk to me. Let me help you go faster or look better. Making your car the Sickest ride on the planet is my goal.
