PHILADELPHIA, PA – September 9, 2013 – The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack (NYSE: “PBY”), the nation's leading automotive aftermarket service and retail chain, is proud to announce its co-sponsorship of Hot Rod Magazine’s annual Drag Week event taking place September 9 through 13, 2013. As part of the sponsorship, Pep Boys will be featuring a specially-equipped mobile Speed Shop where drivers can get replacement parts for their race cars throughout Drag Week, which spans four states and more than 1,000 miles.

The mobile Speed Shop will travel to each track for the five racing days and stocks necessary items such as racing tires, batteries, performance parts, gaskets, electronics, safety equipment and fluids. Pep Boys has over 100 specialty Speed Shops in 30 states, featured throughout their more than 750 locations in 35 states and Puerto Rico, and the company has a rich heritage of automotive performance knowledge.

The Hot Rod Drag Week is open to street-legal four-wheel vehicles of any year, make or model, and will be held at the following American Midwest tracks: Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky; Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis, Missouri; Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana and Memphis International Raceway in Millington, Tennessee.
