Warranty

Many tires are covered by a limited warranty that typically lasts until you exceed a certain number of miles (mileage warranties) or until the tire’s tread wears to 2/32 of an inch (tread life warranties).


The duration of any manufacturer’s warranty varies based on the construction and the recommended application for a particular tire. Some manufacturers offer no warranty outside of defects in material or craftsmanship. This means when you’re ready to purchase your next set of tires, a warranty may be a significant consideration.

Protect your investment
The tires Pep Boys sells are built to exacting standards of our manufacturers. However, any tire is subject to failure due sidewall impact damage, puncture, improper inflation or incorrect use. To protect your investment we suggest a Pep Boys Road Hazard Warranty, available at additional charge at time of purchase.

  • Coverage for Repairs
    Pep Boys will follow its Puncture Repair Procedures to determine if your tire should be repaired or replaced under this coverage. While the repair cost is free, there will be a charge for re-balancing a repaired tire.
  • Replacement
    Our Road Hazard Warranty can help you save on the high cost of tire replacement. If your tire becomes unusable due to a road hazard and cannot be repaired, we will pro-rate your tire based on the amount of tread wear. Then we will either replace the unusable tire or give you a refund. While Pep Boys will remount the tire for free, there will be a cost for re-balancing the replacement tire. Coverage includes unrepairable tread punctures, damage from potholes, nails, glass or other road debris, impact breaks, bruises and rim cuts.
  • Length of coverage
    Coverage from Pep Boys Road Hazard Warranty extends through the full, advertised mileage of the tire or 5 years from time of purchase, whichever comes first. Coverage is not transferable to a new owner or if the tires are re-mounted on another vehicle.
