TIP!

  • A "Standard" tire is the size your vehicle's manufacturer recommends. You most likely purchased your vehicle with standard sized tires.

Tires By Size

Section Width

Measured in millimeters from the outer sidewall to the inner sidewall at the widest point when mounted.

Aspect Ratio

The ratio between the height of the sidewall and its Section Width, expressed as a percentage. The lower the number, the lower the "profile" of the tire.

Wheel Diameter

Most wheel rim diameters are measured in inches, and are known as "inch rim" sizes. These are found on most cars, vans, SUVs and light trucks. Some heavy trailers, van and trucks use a half-inch measure. In addition, some rims are measured in millimeters. It's very important that your tire and wheel diameter match exactly. This should be confirmed before installation.

used on any road surface. Another thing to remember about all-terrain tires is that they are made of a softer rubber than street tires, which can ofter mean a shorter tread life. It's also good to keep in mind that like other hybrid tires, all-terrain tires are designed to be all-purpose. So if you drive mostly off road, you should consider a set of off-road tires because they're made to withstand prolonged periods of off-road time whereas all-terrain tires are meant for shorter periods.
