Points to note when selecting a new car battery:

Climate: The colder your climate the higher CCA (cold-cranking amps) rating you need.
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA): The discharge loads measured in amps that a fully charged battery at 0 degrees Fahrenheit can deliver for 30 seconds while maintaining the voltage about 7.2 volts.
Reserve Capacity: The number of minutes a fully charged battery at 80 degrees F (26.7 degrees C) can be discharged at 25 amps until the voltage falls below 10.5 volts.
Type: Includes Low-maintenance (non-sealed) and maintenance-free (non-sealed or sealed).
Size: Based on OEM cranking amp requirements for make, model and year of car.
Age: Make sure the battery you buy is never more than six months old. At this age, batteries begin to “sulfate” or lose charge. Pep Boys guarantees our batteries as “fresh.” Be sure to check the date code on the battery.
Warranty: Select the battery with the warranty that makes you feel most comfortable.
