Manufacturer's Rebate Instruction

Rebate Tips
1. Read your Pep Boys rebate form thoroughly. Each Pep Boys rebate offer is unique, with different date ranges and postmark date requirements. Many rebates require the purchase of multiple products. You must submit all qualifying products listed for a given rebate to be eligible. The best way to make sure you get your rebate is to follow the instructions carefully. If you have any questions, call us at the toll-free number listed on the rebate form or call your local Pep Boys store.

2. Make copies of all of your paperwork. This includes your receipt, rebate form, mailing envelope, and any other items that are needed for validation of your rebate. If for some reason your submission gets lost in the mail, you will need this information to have your rebate reprocessed. It is also a good idea to have this information in front of you if you need to call the customer service phone number listed on your rebate form.

3. Don't wait. Many Pep Boys rebates require your rebate submission to be postmarked within a set number of days from your date of purchase. If you miss this deadline, you will not be able to receive your rebate.

4. Clearly write your name and address on the rebate form. If your handwriting is difficult to read, it will be difficult to enter your information correctly. To ensure fast, accurate processing of your rebate, be sure to print clearly. Remember also that PO boxes are not acceptable addresses for Pep Boys rebates, so be sure to include your street address when you complete your offer form.

5. Watch for your rebate check in the mail.

Road Hazard Warranty

Protect Your Investment
What will our Road Hazard Warranty do for you?

Pep Boys will follow its Puncture Repair Procedures to determine if your tire should be repaired, at no expense, or replaced under this coverage. While the repair cost is free, there will be a charge for re-balancing a repaired tire.

Road Hazard Warranty can save you the expense of tire replacement. If your Pep Boys tire becomes unusable due to a road hazard related mishap and cannot be repaired, we will, subject to pro-rated adjustment based upon the remaining usable tread on the tire, replace the unusable tire or give you a refund. While Pep Boys will remount the tire for free, there will be a cost for re-balancing the replacement tire.

Coverage extends to such damage as unrepairable tread punctures damage from potholes, nails, glass and jagged metal which cause cuts, snags, punctures, impact breaks, bruises and rim cuts.

Length Of Coverage
Coverage with Road Hazard Warranty extends for the full period of the mileage of the tire. This coverage is not transferable to a new owner, or if the owner mounts the tires on another vehicle.Close [x]

Core Charge

A "Core Charge" is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda. In many states, to promote recycling, you are charged a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and you receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a Core Charge, or Core Price, that works the same way as a soda can deposit.

Here's how the Core Charge works:
  • The part you are purchasing contains a component that is recyclable
  • The Core Charge deposit is charged at the time of purchase
  • When the recyclable component from your old part is returned to us, the charge is refunded to you
  • To receive your Core Charge refund, you can do either of the following:
  • Bring the part to any Pep Boys store along with your receipt or invoice (recommended)
  • Mail the part back to Pep Boys through the online return process
  • Please see our Returns Policy for more information on returning a core item.
Core Charges are often mandated by state legislature, and, as such, the actual core charge and taxes on the charge may vary depending on the state in which you buy your part. The Pep Boys core charge presented to you online today with your item is representative of the most common core charge. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Care Center at 1-800-PEP-BOYS (737-2697) or visit any Pep Boys store. Close [x]

Rated 2 out of 5 by Unable to secure the bar safely Despite several attempts, I have been unable to secure the bars to the car safely. After working for an hour to seat the bars so that they would not shift once attached to my car, I gave up and had to cancel the part of the trip with my daughter that was supposed to include our kayak. Unless you can clearly see, on your car, where you will seat the bar support--I cannot recommend this kit. If, on the other hand, you have examined your car PRIOR to buying this kit AND you know EXACTLY where the crossbar supports can be seated securely on the door frames, then this kit could kit could work for you. The key is to examine YOUR door frames to find a secure placement for the device. August 25, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by disappointed in this product's failure to live up to its specs I originally purchased this product for a camping trip. I have a huge bag that can fit a lot of stuff into it, which I planned to mount on top of my roof. The HIGHLAND Multi-Purpose Roof Top Bar Carrier was bought for that very purpose -- so I could mount it onto my Acura SUV rooftop and securely fasten my bag of stuff on top of it. The issue I had with this Multi-Purpose Bar Carrier was that I simply was unable to mount it and fasten/tighten it to the rooftop with enough tension, so that it would not slip off. I was installing it as per manufacturer's specs and instructions. Every time I would try tightening the belts (to adjust proper tension) on one side of the Bar Carrier, belts would snap off on the opposite side of that Bar Carrier. It was a very frustrating experience! And tension does need to be set properly with those adjustment belts, if one is to be able to mount a 50-100 lbs. cargo on top of that Bar Carrier (as was my case) and not have it slip off during driving. Manufacturer specs are up to 300 lbs. Also, the rubber feet that were provided, to increase friction between the Bar Carrier and the car rooftop, kept slipping off once I actually placed the weight on top of the Bar Carrier. Under that weight, those little rubber feet squezzed in so much so that they started to slip off. In the end, I could not properly utilize that Bar Carrier. I ended up strapping my rooftop cargo to my rooftop using heavy industrial type belts that ran through the inside of my SUV, from both sides, diagonally. My cargo bag simply sat on the Bar Carrier, but the bar carrier is not what kept it secure on the rooftop. I could not utilize it for its inended purpose, as it was designed. All in all, I would strongly recommend against purchasing this product, It was not designed to do what it advertised and is inferior in that sense. Low cost, regardless, it is not worth it. The chances of one's cargo slipping off the rooftop and falling are not worth taking. August 24, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by It was effective I purchased these carriers to move a ladder from my parents house to mine and planned to put them on my pick-up. The carriers worked great but the rubber covers for the feet fall off. Any time that I picked them up, I had to make sure that the feet were there, otherwise I was looking for them. July 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is great if you set it up correctly. You can set this up by yourself, but I'd recommend another person to help you. To save yourself time, while you're in the same aisle as this roof rack, there are 12' red straps that I think are around $10, for a pair, I'd highly recommend getting those. Next, assemble this roof rack next to your vehicle on the ground. Place the item you'll be moving onto the rack and secure it to each bar criss-cross pattern with duct tape, yes I said duct tape. Then with a friend lift the roof rack and item together and place it on your roof. The metal clips go under the weather strips.. Now, if you're traveling only a few miles, you will not need the red straps, however, if you're going 600 miles like I did, I would highly recommend them. I strapped the roof rack down better to my vehicle than relying solely on the metal clips. Highway driving? Well, this roof rack is noisy, but there's 2 types of noise it will make. If it sounds like a door is vibrating really loud, a clip has loosened. If it sounds like you're flying a cessna, you're okay. I wouldn't recommend going faster than 65, otherwise you run the risk of losing your cargo. April 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Got What I Paid For They worked but keep in mind that I used them in a way they were NOT designed for as a luggage carrier and I had to manufacture a hard base out of 5/8" plywood to hold 2 large soft suitcases. Except for the fact that the plastic "feet" kept falling off and ratcheting tie downs would have been better they seemed to be sturdy and well made. September 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great, inexpensive roof rack! I was in the market for a temporary roof rack and the $300-500 roof racks were definitely not an option. I didn't expect to see the same quality as the real expensive roof racks but I was pleasantly surprised by the Highland roof rack. Here are pros and cons... Pros: 1. 125 pound weight capacity ... It is listed on page 1. That is more than enough that I need. The bars are really strong. 2. Fits nicely on roof... When I first saw the strap and the hook, I didn't think it would hold tightly enough. When I put it on, I was surprised how tight the strap got and how the hook fit without scratching. The hooks have a little rubber covering that makes contact with the car so it won't scratch. When I close the doors, the weather strip is over the hooks so don't drive in the rain with them or you may have a little leak. When I remove the hooks, the weather strip isn't damaged and returns like it was. That made me happy. Some people may prefer a ratchet strap but I think hand tighten with the regular straps is perfectly fine. A ratchet strap may be too strong and do damage. 3. Added eye bolts on each side of the bars in the available holes so I could put ratchet tie down hooks or ropes through them to better secure my items. 4. PRICE PRICE PRICE! Much cheaper option than renting a truck a couple times or paying for a real expensive roof rack. Cons: 1. Rubber footings.... They work nicely but they will fall off. I just put some strong Gorilla black tape on them and it solved the problem. I highly recommend this roof rack. As long as you remember that this roof rack isn't suppose to be permanent and use it only when needed, it should be very durable. July 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I bought this HIghland Roof Top Carrier to transport a 32 foot aluminum extension ladder. I have a 2006 Honda Accord and the carrier did a great job. Due to the type of cargo I was carrying I used extra ratchet tie-down straps to secure the ladder front and back and also to secure the Roof Top Carrier to my car. I passed one tie-down through the car interior to secure the right and left sides of the carrier to insure the carrier did not slip. Belt and suspenders security. :) Overall I really like this carrier and expect to use it for years to come. December 8, 2013
