My passion for performance vehicles and the aftermarket industry started like most people, with Matchbox cars and Diecast models. Then it hit the street with my first car...my brother's 1980 Buick Regal V8. It was in great shape except for one problem, it was bone stock! After a few bolt-ons and a set of wheels, I caught the fever! Fast forward a few years and a couple street cars later, I landed a job at the local Ford Racing dealer. I started as a parts counterman and eventually moved up to run the performance shop. While being a huge part of the Long Island Mustang scene over the years, we had a blast! Hosting car shows, doing magazine shoots and building awesome cars were some great perks of the job! I have been lucky enough to be involved in building everything from muscle cars, show winners, 8 second drag cars and including my present street machine, a Mustang notchback with a 347 Stroker engine.
After that I spent the next few years working at a high performance boat and jet-ski dealer in the Hamptons. Even though I had some great times jumping the waves, my first love was for the street and I knew I needed a change of scenery. That's what brought me to where I am now, the Long Island Speed Shop Manager here at Pep Boys. Now I get to share my passion with all types of automotive enthusiasts. So, if your looking to get more performance out of your vehicle or add some accessories to your ride, come on down and ask for Alex. I look forward to meeting you and checking out your mode of transportation, because you know we can't just leave it stock!
