Pep Boys is the only aftermarket service and retail chain in the nation that is capable of serving all four segments of the automotive aftermarket: the do-it-yourself, do-it-for-me, buy-for-resale and replacement tires.
Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pep Boys operates more than 7,000 service bays in more than 700 stores (Supercenters and Service & Tire Centers) in 35 states and Puerto Rico. Currently, Pep Boys operates in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
With approximately 18,500 associates, stores and service centers are open seven days, six nights a week. Sunday operating hours for Service & Tire Centers may vary from store to store.

Pep Boys provides a variety of automotive repair services including: Scheduled maintenance services, oil changes and tune-ups, tire installation and repair, wheel alignments, brake repair and replacement, air conditioning, heating, cooling system repair, batteries, starters, alternators, shocks and struts, check engine light evaluation and diagnosis, engine repair and replacement as well as state inspections and emissions testing, timing belts, rack and pinion installations, radiator flush and fills, installation of accessories, belts and hoses, fuel system services and suspension repair (excluding internal engine repair).
Pep Boys is a pioneering member of the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association’s MAP (Motorist Assurance Program) an industry-wide coalition dedicated to strengthening customer confidence in the automobile repair industry. Pep Boys was one of the first automotive repair chains in the country to implement a strict code of ethics, a comprehensive set of vehicle inspection guidelines and customer communications standards to provide customers with the level of understanding they need to make informed decisions about automotive service and repairs. Designed to assure consumers of the industry’s professionalism and commitment to honesty, MAP’s Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards (UICS) are used when explaining inspection results and service and repair recommendations for all major vehicle systems.
Established in 1921, Pep Boys celebrated its 90th Anniversary in 2011 and its shares are publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “PBY.”
